Top 10 Most Affordable Law Schools

Pursuing a law degree can become a heavy financial burden for many people. Research has shown that the average law school graduate accumulates six figures in debt. However, there are some universities that attempt to maintain reasonable tuition rates to help law students reach their potential. With that being said, here is a look at some of the most affordable law schools in the country.

Rutgers Law School:

The annual tuition is around $27,000. The average student debt at graduation is around $55,000. Rutgers Law School is one of the largest public law schools in the United States. Law students in the JD Program will study topics such as criminal law, legal analysis, and contracts.

Georgia State University College of Law:

The annual tuition is around $16,000. The average student debt at graduation is $64,000. The College of Law offers joint degree programs with other colleges at Georgia State University. The College of Law program offers study abroad programs throughout Europe and South America.

The University of Wisconsin Law School:

The annual tuition is around $21,000. The average student debt at graduation is $77,000. Students have the option of studying topics such as trademarks, land use, and jurisprudence.

University of Iowa College of Law:

The annual tuition is $24,000. The average student debt is $74,000. The University Of Iowa College Of Law sponsors multiple academic journals, including the Iowa Law Review, Journal of Corporation Law, and The Journal of Gender, Race, & Justice.

University of Houston Law Center:

The annual tuition is $30,000. The average student debt at graduation is $97,000. The University of Houston Law Center awards JD and Master of Laws degrees. The Law Center offers multiple law clinics for upper division students.

University of Nebraska College of Law:

The annual tuition is $15,000. The average student debt at graduation is $62,000. In addition to the traditional JD Program, students can also pursue a joint degree.

University of North Carolina School of Law:

The annual tuition is $23,000. The average student debt at graduation is $95,000. The University Of North Carolina School Of Law has multiple law journals, including The First Amendment Law Review, North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation, and North Carolina Law Review.

University of Texas School of Law:

The annual tuition is $33,000. The average student debt at graduation is $103,000. Law journals published at The University include The Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal, Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, & Energy Law, and Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights.

University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law:

The annual tuition is $25,000. The average student debt at graduation is $84,000. The College Of Law strives to promote public leadership, integrity, and community service. Law students can participate in different internships and student organization programs.

Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School:

The annual tuition is $12,000. The J. Reuben Clark Law School is known for preparing students to participate in high level judicial clerkship’s. In addition to The JD Program, The J. Reuben Clark Law School also has a Master of Laws program.
